One Little Bird Studios is Leanda, an English ex-graphic designer who is now living in sunny Greece awaiting a bundle of joy and about to be married. She makes these really cute little prints (I think?) and is in the midst of setting up an Etsy shop to sell them at, and a blog to keep us all updated on the awesomeness. Her Flickr is up and running with about 20 shots of some great typography-based work, and I know I’ll be checking back!

I really, really want the water poster on the wall in this picture. I think it is the perfect piece of art to hang over your desk for those moments where the brain is running and you want something to look at, but don’t feel like letting yourself get distracted by a bunch of little things on a tack board, or pictures of loved ones, or whatever. This is a serious pro-thinking print.
Of course I just spent the last hour or so scouring for this specific print on the internets, and had to quit before my brain exploded or my hand fell off. Needless to say, couldn’t find it. Apparently the artist who took this desk shot is Jim Bastardo, who has some pretty awesome photos on his site for you to check out, but not this one. Bummer.

This is kinda awesome. And I’ll always have a soft spot for the Honda H.

Check out Three Potato Four and see all the interesting and well designed collections they have managed to source, from paper packs to typewriters to letterpress wood font sets. The paper looks so cool, and would be really fun to do a mailing project with, or maybe piece together for some much-needed wall art.

I like these mailer lables by tiny bazaar. I always write in treacherous handwriting — “DO NOT BEND” then say a prayer when mailing photos. These are way cooler.

Not only do these illustrations make me want to seek out Serious Eats Hot Dog of the Week to try out these tasty looking guys, every time I see a new one I think about how cool they could look hung up on the wall in our kitchen.
After doing a little research I found out that you CAN actually buy prints of these, direct from the Philly-based artist–Hawk Krall. The 11×14 prints are only $27!

On a sunny day, it’s still pouring. Though in this case it’s all ideas, all the time. The good type of rain, not that annoying Seattle drizzle.

Wandering around the Brooklyn Flea in DUMBO on Sunday, secretly hoping to catch a glimpse of Martha, I came upon the Brooklyn Flea Design Co-op tent which contained a bunch of different designers inside one tent, with a little bit of table space each.
In the back, on the right I found Sesame Letterpress. I really liked their designs and the feel of their pieces. I’m actually not hardcore into letterpress like a lot of people, but it was nice to talk to one of the the designers (I’m assuming it was Matt of Matt and Breck)–their love for what they do really came through in the 1 minute we chatted. I, of course, internet-stalked their stuff immediately upon arriving home and am in LOVE with their coasters! They make me want to throw a party just to have some custom coasters made.
update: OOH!! And I just realized you can buy some of their wares on one of my favorite sites: BuyOlympia.com!

Kevin Van Aelst‘s gummi worm chromosome chart artwork speaks to the biology nerd in me. I like that.

Scouring the dailies I stumbled upon art from James Joyce. James is a London-based artist who founded his own studio One Fine Day in 2006 in Shoreditch. His art is right up my alley, and it’s just a bummer that some of the limited-edition pieces that I love so much are already sold out. Check out his shop here.

Just wanted to post this for my Ohio friends, since I saw this, decided it was cool, and I actually know people from Ohio now.
Then I looked at the rest of Mikey Burtons stuff and realized it made me super happy. Like these:
Mikey Burton is from Philly (by way of the midwest)–check out his designs here. The show posters are good stuff.

This print is definitely my theme of today–even though the day started unnecessarily early due to some meowing, I have gotten more stuff done today than in a while. Makes me happy.
