Home State Pride
September 25th, 2009
I was quite happy to read that the Fluffernutter is officially in contention to be named the Massachusetts State Sandwich. By the State legislature even! Here’s to 2 great things done in Mass Law this week: naming Kennedy’s successor and (hopefully) anointing my most favorite childhood sandwich as supreme ruler!
As I kid I refused to eat any sort of sandwich meat or cheese on bread unless it was grilled and warm. I still shudder at the taste of smushy white bread combining with mealy bologna and cheese in a bite. Blechhh. For about, oh, 5-7 years I instead subsisted on a packed lunch box with either a cream cheese and olive sandwich (don’t knock it ’til you try it) or a fluffernutter.
Fluffernutter of Corin’s Childhood
2 slices white bread
1.5 tablespoons chunky peanut butter
1.5 tablespoons Marshmallow Fluff
spread, stack, cut the crusts off, and slice diagonally.
Eat up.
